DDT to Chateau Marouatte

Following our sucessful Tour to Vernon France in 2008 it was time to hang up our hats for a while on the tour front. But as soon as we had returned from this trip my fingers started itching for 2009 and I had this thought that maybe we could rent a Chateau in France not specifically for an open Invicta Club DDT but more to create a Summer Holiday for us with some of our Invicta friends.

After sometime of searching I stumbled on a castle deep in the heart of the Dordogne. Chateau Marouatte was a fairy tale castle perched on a hill close to Perigueux and once I had read the website and found that you could book this whole castle with 240 acres of grounds I knew this was the one for us.

The only week available in the summer of 2009 when booking a year in advance was the first week in August, a time which conflicted with going to SOFER (an event that we had always supported before) but we decided that we would be supporting this event for many years to come and so this castle holiday was too much of a dream to ignore and we promptly booked the week with Rose the UK agent.

The castle in real terms could comfortably accommodate the 9 Invicta couples that came on this adventure and as you can see in the group picture from the previous page we did conquer the castle.

We also had the owner Miles Copeland there to greet us on our arrival into his domain before his return home to the states that afternoon.

We had a wonderfull time and I hope the picture video below will show more than any words can tell.
